Membership - Become a Lobo PTA Member TODAY!

"Lobo PTA has many opportunities for you to be involved.
To become a "member," the only requirement
is that you pay a $15.00 membership fee.  There are many "members" who donate time by being involved as a Chair person or Committee member and there are those who voluntarily donate additional funds to help cover the costs of many programs provided to your child. This membership fee goes directly to the PTA to fund such programs as "Primary Music," "Meet the Masters" and much more.  A portion of your money also goes to the district and national PTAs to support advocacy and education campaigns."  - Lobo Elementary Membership Chair.

PTA ASSOCIATION MEETING DATES FOR 2010/11:  All PTA members are encouraged to attend PTA Association meetings.  To comment on the agenda or make motions at the meetings, you must be a paid member of PTA for at least 30 days prior to the meeting and submit your motion ten (10) days prior to the meeting so it will be included in the posted Agenda .  If you are interested in joining PTA - you may be invited to attend one meeting, but will not be able to address the agenda or committees until your application and monies are processed and the 30 day time period has passed.

Why Get Involved?
More than 30 years of research has proven that children do better when their parents are involved both at home and at school. Grades are higher. Test scores rise. Self-estem grows. Schools improve.

Here are 7 more reasons why you shouldn't let the school year go by without becoming a member and getting involved:
  1. Get connected
The PTA works closely with the staff at Lobo to keep everyone informed!
  2.
    Discover great resources
Lobo PTA tries to bring great education to the whole family, whether it be a health week, bicycle safety, family art night, or literacy celebration. The National PTA website is a great parenting resource with hundreds of articles online.
  3. Tap into a network
PTA meetings are a great chance to meet others and build rapport. You don't have to attend every PTA meeting or event, but you're always invited!
  4. Watch yourself grow
By volunteering at Lobo, you'll put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause -- your child and all the children in the community.
  5. Speak up
PTA is a forum for exhanging ideas!
  6. Witness improvement
From fundraisers to music programs, PTA is vital to a school's success.
  7. Be a role model
As a PTA member, you'll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education as well as teaching your child how important it is to give back to the community.

We have a lot of opportunities to get involved!
